What to Expect
- Sprint 1: Clarify your career goals (Week 1–2) – Define a role in the sweet spot between your requirements (passion, values, compensation, flexibility, challenge, impact, etc.) and market demand — with a focus on how emerging technologies, especially AI, are shaping the future of your tech function and industry. Prioritize potential career directions: growth in your current role, moving to a new one, or transitioning to a different company — with an eye toward AI-augmented and resilient opportunities.
- Sprint 2: Assess your current readiness (Week 3–4) – Understand what’s required for your target role, assess your skills and experience, identify your strengths and gaps. This includes evaluating your familiarity with AI tools relevant to your work and your ability to adapt to fast-evolving technology. Leverage self-assessments and external perspectives (360 feedback) to surface insights — including how others perceive your adaptability, learning mindset, and innovation readiness.
- Sprint 3: Get ready (Week 5–6) – Make time for career development, establish a routine, and enlist others to keep you accountable. Incorporate AI-enhanced workflows (e.g., productivity tools, research assistants, idea generation) to increase efficiency and accelerate learning. Define clear progress metrics — including your growing confidence and fluency in using AI to enhance your work.
- Sprint 4: Strengthen your personal brand (Week 7–8) – Assess your current brand and how it reflects your leadership potential in a tech-driven world. Define your unique value, articulate your accomplishments, and craft messaging that signals your ability to lead in an AI-augmented environment. Optimize your online presence (LinkedIn, portfolio, etc.), and update your resume/cover letter.
- Sprint 5–6: Take strategic actions (Week 9–12) – Create a list of target companies or internal roles, and begin expanding your professional network. Work to increase your influence internally (visibility, impact, results) and externally (thought leadership, content sharing), positioning yourself as someone who can both understand and apply AI to drive business value.
- Ongoing: Maintain momentum, learn, monitor, iterate – Continue developing skills, pursuing new experiences, and exploring certifications that keep you competitive — particularly those involving AI literacy and digital fluency. Review progress metrics, celebrate wins, reflect on both successes and setbacks. Experiment with different approaches. Change direction if needed. Learn to deal with rejections and setbacks.
